Heating Engineer - Installation and Service

Place of Work:  Mobile
Hours of Work:  40 hours a week (0800 to 1630)
Vehicle: Company Van
Holidays: 23 days + bank holidays
Standby service: On call rota (paid additionally)
Contract:   Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced heating engineer to expand their knowledge and skills into the world of renewable energy technologies, in particular air source and ground source heat pumps. Additional technical training will be provided, including gas-safe, manufacturers courses and professional development.
 
Location
It’s a mobile role so you will be ideally based around Surrey/Hampshire/Berkshire border, south-west London. Able to travel in the home counties and London as required.
  
Requirements and Skills

• 5+ years specific heating and plumbing experience including at least 3 years of domestic gas safe qualifying work records.
• A desire for self-improvement and professional development, including to commercial gas-safe and technical heat pump training at various manufacturers.
• Commercial and residential plumbing and pipework installation.
• The necessary character to ensure every installation is carried out safely and efficiently and is always a job to be proud of.
• Relevant qualifications.
• Ability to review and survey sites of potential new or replacement systems to provide sufficient information for a proposal to be constructed.
• A practical and theoretical understanding of heating and plumbing systems within  commercial and residential building services environments.
• Ability to carry out general planned maintenance works to HVAC plant & equipment.
• Be part of the out of normal working hours emergency call out rota and be flexible outside of core working hours.
• Understanding of Health & Safety and the ability to identify hazards and work through the job from start to finish in order to complete point of use risk assessments and method statements.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, customers and work as part of a team.
• Confident in abilities and up to date with all relevant industry legislation.
• Driving licence.
• Willingness to learn and to take part in any additional training.
• Ability to manage and maintain accurate and up to date records of all work carried out on plant and equipment utilising our field service software system and some paper-based site logs where necessary.

Operations Support Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for a helpdesk or service desk manager, or an aspiring manager with strong customer service and helpdesk experience, who is an excellent communicator with an eye for accuracy and detail and a desire for problem solving, to take the lead in developing our business support and helpdesk operations to a new level.

Role:
You will lead and manage, as well as work alongside, a small team to provide administrative support to the daily operations of the business and to efficiently run the customer service helpdesk. Within this key role you will take ownership and responsibility for the performance of the helpdesk operations, and associated business support, you will have a problem-solving attitude with an ability to motivate your team to achieve the goals of the company. You will be expected to always have your eye on the ball, be highly alert and able to pre-empt any risks that may occur to already scheduled services. You will be self-driven to developing and refining systems used, highlighting any new improvement ideas to management and professionally implementing all those that are agreed.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage administration and scheduling team, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently
• Handling incoming/outgoing calls
• Manage the workflow, liaising with clients and subcontractors to schedule works
• Processing of new and existing jobs on our field service software (including allocating engineers and subcontractors)
• Collating, reading, and processing of engineer reports in a timely manner.
• Liaising with suppliers – obtaining prices, placing and following up on orders
• Scheduling (engineers and subcontractors)
• Implementing new contracts, including raising purchase orders and setting new or revised asset schedules, updating planned service schedules and ensuring the accuracy of the contract amendments to ensure the smooth performance of every contract.
• Maintaining the accuracy of existing plant and equipment asset records
• Forward planning processing, including follow up quotations and liaison as necessary and ensuring works are completed in the expected manner and correctly closed off
• Processing quotations from supplier and subcontractor reports
• Provide support to the rest of the management team and Directors
• Supporting and helping to maintain our various accreditations, including ISO9001 Quality Management, our various trade body memberships and accreditation schemes and our Health and Safety systems
• Managing complaints and compliments, and tracking performance

A/C Engineer – Installation and Maintenance

Qualifications required

• NVQ Level 2 with 10 years experience, or
• NVQ Level 3 with 5+ years experience

You must be up-to-date with your F-Gas training and have H&S in the workplace experience.

Commercial Gas Engineer

Place of Work:  Mobile (ideal location around West part of Surrey, SW London, Hampshire/Berkshire border)
Hours of Work:  40 hours a week (08.00 to 16.30)
Vehicle:  Company van
Holidays:  22 days + bank holidays
Standby service:  On call rota paid additionally including overtime rates if called out during out of hours
Contract:  Permanent Contract

Location
Ideal base would be around West part of Surrey, SW London, Hampshire/Berkshire border.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Planned service work to commercial gas appliances (boilers, water heaters etc)
• General fault finding and trouble shooting
• Maintain up to date records of all work carried out on plant and equipment on internal management system
• Be part of out of normal working hours emergency call out rota and be flexible outside of core working hours
• Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, customers and work as part of a team
• Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to customer care
• Smart and professional at all times
• A strong communicator
• Flexible with the ability to work under pressure

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Commercial gas heating and hot water appliances
• Occasional Residential gas work
• Occasional small works installation and replacement of appliances
• Minimum Level 3 NVQ in relevant trade
• Commercial ACS qualification
• Practical understanding of heating
• Knowledge of associated electrical and controls
• Experience of PPM works and record keeping
• Experience at fault finding
• Good at troubleshooting, repair service, and maintenance
• Working with Field service software
